TEDxCincy’s newest speakers will be:
- Tatiana Berman, Constella Festival. Berman is a violinist, founder and artistic director of the Constella Festival in Cincinnati, and a founding member of concert:nova, a multidisciplinary chamber music ensemble.
- Pramod P. Reddy, MD, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center. Dr. Reddy is a pediatric and fetal urologist at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and the Fetal Care Center of Cincinnati. He focuses on kidney stones, ESWL, genitourinary surgery and clinical trials.
- Danny Babcock and Matthew Dayler, Higher Level Art. Higher Level Art creates exclusive mural, sign, and fine art installations. Babcock’s extensive scenic and graffiti experience along with Dayler’s figurative and print style works are the foundation of their collaboration.
- Matt Hagedon, Electrofluidic Ink Transposition. An Electrical Engineering graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Hagedon is currently pursuing his PhD in the rapidly burgeoning field of microfluidics. Hagedon’s research is creating a new form of electrofluidic display that will allow for rollable and sun-light readable tablets and smart phones.
- Elementz: Kre8v Dance. Leveraging the core elements of Hip-Hop (dance, spoken word, graffiti, DJ’ing) Kre8v Dance, part of the Elementz Hip Hop Arts Center, helps youth develop leadership skills and unleash their creativity to produce and perform conscious hip hop that is respectful, insightful, and uplifting.
- Jesse Mooney-Bullock, puppeteer. Mooney-Bullock is an artist working in wood to create puppets and movable sculptures that reflect the natural forms of life. He builds puppets on commission for theater companies based in Chicago and elsewhere.
- Ben Nunery and Steve Daly, Powerhouse Factories. Nunery and Daly will share “The New Creation Equation: Digital + Analog,” which will discuss how Nunery and Daly meld digital and analog technology to deliver branding solutions for such companies as Procter & Gamble, Chiquita, Kroger, Epson, Sears, Bush Brothers & Company, and the U.S. Air Force.
- Elissa Yancey, MSEd, University of Cincinnati. Yancey, an Associate Professor of Journalism at UC and Managing Editor of Soapbox Media, will present “Storytelling at the Crossroads,” her own exciting view on the expanding storytelling opportunities that technology allows.
- Queen City Project. This collaboration between Bluestone Creative and Alias Imaging will discuss “The Art of Visual Storytelling” in an effort to sort through the flurry of media messages that surround us to differentiate the relevant from the propaganda.
- School for the Creative and Performing Arts. The internationally renowned launch pad for some of today’s most successful artists will entertain with a cappella and creative writing groups.
- Christian Strike, Newsfeed. Strike founded Country Club in 2008 and built it into an internationally recognized art program lauded by critics, curators, patrons, and museum personnel worldwide. Via Country Club, he produced renowned projects with a roster of internationally recognized artists. Strike will share his experiences as an arts entrepreneur.
Speakers announced previously include:
- Meg Galvin, Midwest Culinary Institute. Galvin will share “Vivaldi Didn’t Eat Velveeta,” a colorful talk about fresh foods that feature natural flavors.
- Chris Erb, EA Sports. Erb will speak about the importance of brand collaboration, drawing from his electronic media expertise with such video games as Madden NFL 13.
- Steve Fulton, GE Aviation. Fulton is a FAA Flight Test Pilot and Designated Engineering Representative at GE, and will present “Building Highways in the Sky,” a discussion about the future of flight.
- Greg Smith, Xavier University’s Williams College of Business. Smith will discuss Xavier’s American Dream Composite Index, a unique and robust measure of American sentiment that values the American Dream on a monthly basis.
- Renee Koerner, Big Fish Farms. Koerner will share her experience with producing paddle fish in Kentucky, a sustainable aquaculture product that is distributed globally and produces some of the world’s finest caviar.
- Sid Khosla and Effie Gutmark. University of Cincinnati doctors. Drs. Khosla and Gutmark will delve into how our voices work, using the science of Aerospace engineering to study the mechanics of vocal cord vibration and voice production.
